"This has become a big problem in today's Buddhist community: Although the Buddha gave numerous profound teachings, many modern-day Buddhists-despite having studied them in depth--do not know how to apply them in daily life. As time has passed, we have lost shared principles and a common aim.
For many years I have given this matter consideration. For instance, my concern that Buddhists are drifting around aimlessly prompted me to write the book titled 'The Buddhist's Discipline'.
Education lies at the heart of shaping and strengthening our nation. In order to create a coherent educational system, I propose the two main headings of 'principles' and 'practice' to help define what it means to be a true Buddhist."
